Connor's Adventure

Connor had a big adventure with the diaper box last week. Greg thinks he has a future as a rock climber...

Mother's/Father's Day

We both celebrated our first official Mother's and Father's Day this year. We had a great time. The biggest gift was letting each other "sleep in" on our day. Here are a couple pictures from the occasions.

 Like father, like son

Connor sent me flowers at school!

It's been a long time!

It's been a couple months since I updated. The end of the school year (which seemed to go on forever) was extremely busy. To my surprise, staying home with Connor keeps me even busier! I just thought I was tired after work each day!

Connor turned 9 months old yesterday. He has grown and changed so much in just the last couple of weeks. Within the last week he has graduated from the "army crawl" to crawling on his hands and knees. This led to pulling up on everything. He loves to stand and cruise around the furniture. He's getting braver every day. Today he decided he could lean against the table (Look Mom, no hands!) and keep playing. He will also try to turn from what he's holding onto to go to something else. He is also talking a lot! He says "mama" and "dada" (still not connecting to us much though). He also has started saying "bob." We're not sure where it came from though. A couple of nights ago he was trying to play peek-a-boo while standing in his pack and play and when he's bounce up he'd say "boo."  He is incredibly cute, but very very busy!

At his 9 month check up he weighed 20 lbs. 3 ounces (46%), measured 28.5 inches (60%), and his head is 18.25 inches (82%). His doctor says he's "perfect." We couldn't agree more!

We got a lot of good pics from last month...here are just a few!

 Connor loves giving kisses!
He looks so much like Greg in this picture.

Connor's First Easter

For Easter we took Connor to a family friend's egg hunt! He had fun trying to pick up all the colorful eggs. Sadly enough, he has been sick over the past couple of weeks. We are happy to report he is feeling much better now. We hope it continues! Even with not feeling well, he now weighs almost 19 pounds! Such a big boy! He is trying to become mobile. He cannot get on his hands and knees alone, but if we help him he will rock back and forth and try really hard to move. He is very good at rolling everywhere! He can also sit up very well. He has been so much fun over the past month. It's so hard to believe he is 7 months old!

Here are a few pics of Connor's first egg hunt!

You know you're a mom when...

This was posted on a message board I entertain myself with. I thought it was pretty accurate! :)

You know you're a mom when:

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your body ... finally.

5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily.

10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.

11. Every day is a surprise.

12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)

13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person.

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power

6 months!

Connor had his 6 month check up on Monday. He is now 17.5 pounds and 27 inches long. He is growing and changing so fast! His doctor continues to be impressed with his muscle tone and strength. He can almost sit by himself (doing even better now than on Monday) and loves to EAT! She was excited to hear how much he loves his food and how many different things he has tried. Greg now gets the pleasure of creating a chicken or turkey puree for our little guy. He is developing very well over all, but she did mention that the back of his head is still a little more flat than she would like to see. She said it could be a lot worse, and it will probably shape itself fine since he's sitting up and rolling around more now. However, it has me a bit concerned, so we are working extra hard to make sure he stays up during the day and rotating where he lays at night. He is such a happy boy though and he brightens even the worst of days. He loves to play and laugh so much, which is so fun for me and Greg. I am so thankful to be his Momma!

My New Bouncy!

We broke down and bought a bouncy pod. He loves the one at day care, so now he can bounce all the time!

5 months

Another month has flown by in our little world. Connor has learned SO much in just the past few weeks. He rolls all over the place. He talks ("ba, ba, ba", "geww", and "ehh" are his current favorites). He can almost sit completely unassisted. He tends to topple over if he gets excited over his toys. Speaking of toys, he LOVES to play. We play so much! Everything, of course, goes into his mouth. We also purchased a bouncy pod that he count probably sit in for hours and be completely enthused. He has also started sleeping much better. When he got his first cold, he did not sleep well for a while. He now sleeps most of the night every night and sometimes doesn't wake at all until 6 or 7. He is such a happy baby. We are so lucky to be his parents. He makes every day so bright!

Here are some pics from the past month or so:

 Thoughtful baby boy.
Dad came to get me at school!
 Ready to go!
 Loving his playmat
 Scout is my best friend!
Not going to get pinched today!
 I am a cool dude.
 Loving a dad ride!
 Cutie Pa-tootie...
...most of the time! :)

The Last Month in Pictures

 Connor's First Snow
 Eating like a big boy!
 Playing with Mom and Dad
 Such a little man!
 Toys have become very fun!
 Matching hats!
Loving Poppy...looking like a little boy, not a baby!

Tummy time is more fun because he can roll over when he gets tired of it!
He loves his "baby pod." He was actually sick with a cold in this pic, but a boy must play!

Our little family has had a bit of a rough month. Connor is still as cute as ever and growing, changing, and learning every day. At the beginning of the month Greg was sick with the stomach bug. I did everything I could to keep Connor and me well. We managed to steer clear of the stomach bug, but both of us ended up with a cold the next weekend. We have yet to have a completely well weekend because after lots of congestion, Connor had a touch of pink eye last week. Because of all of this, our baby boy hasn't slept well in a few weeks. The last few nights have gone better so we're hoping he's working back to his good sleep routine. When we took Connor to his 4 month check up his doctor was very impressed with his motor development. She thinks he's fantastic! Of course, so do we! He weighed a little over 15 pounds and is 26 inches-80th percentile for height and head circumference, 50th for weight. He has really grown a lot longer in the past few weeks! He can now consistently roll over from his tummy to his back and has almost gotten from back to tummy a few times. He loves his toys and EVERYTHING goes in his mouth! He laughs all the time and has starting "talking" quite a bit. He's eating cereal some now and loves the spoon. Everyday is something new and difference and I absolutely love watching him grow and learn. It's amazing what this little guy can do and he's only (already?!?!) 4 months old!

Silly Boy

Connor was very amused by Mom last night. He has the best laugh!
Greg and I agree that he can laugh like this for as long as he wants!
It's definitely the best!

Day Care

Yesterday was Connor's first day at day care or "school" as we call it. He has done wonderfully so far! Momma has handled it fairly well. He has been all smiles for me when I've picked him up so that makes missing him all better! Hopefully he'll make lots of little baby friends!

Go Hogs!

Connor celebrated the Hogs today! He wore one of his Razorback onsies, his booties, and his paci clip all day. We added the hat when we got home (it's still a bit big). We are hoping for a future Razorback!
